Inspection records

Hello PSC stores your inspector name and rank, ship details, inspections, findings, follow-ups, notes and unfinished drafts in the app’s storage on your device. Database download requests do not include these inspection records.

Your device’s backup and restore settings are separate from the app’s local storage. A local record should not be treated as a promise that no copy can exist in a device backup.

Purchase verification

Apple handles payments made through the App Store. Hello PSC does not ask you to enter payment-card or bank details.

The app’s purchase checks use the package, transaction identifiers and subscription dates supplied by Apple. These are separate from your inspection notes. See Apple’s privacy information for its handling of App Store transactions.

Database downloads

Checking for an update or downloading a database sends a request to the update service. A protected request includes access information so the service can check whether the download is permitted.

Cloudflare delivers the database files and processes network information, including IP addresses and traffic information, to provide its services. That is different from uploading an inspection. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of this information.

When you email support

If you email fourstripes@gmail.com, your email address, message and anything you attach are received in our Gmail mailbox so we can respond. This correspondence is separate from records stored in the app.

You choose what to send. Include only the app and database versions, device details and a brief description of the problem. Do not send passwords, access credentials, an entire inspection database or private ship and crew details. Gmail processes email under Google’s privacy policy.

These support pages

These pages have no login or contact form, and contain no advertising or analytics scripts. Email links open your email app; they do not send a message automatically. The website host still processes the connection needed to serve a page.
